There are many ways you can help the Hospice at Butte Home Health continue its mission to provide the very best patient care and support for families.You may contribute by volunteering your time or making a donation to Butte Home Health and Hospice.

Volunteering for Hospice

Working with hospice patients and their families is a rewarding experience you'll never forget. When volunteering, your job is to provide support and services depending on the family's needs. Examples are: Providing relief for the caregiver, visiting patients, shopping, preparing meals, driving, running errands, light housework, gardening, and childcare.

Qualifications: Emotional maturity, sensitivity, listening skills, willingness to do whatever is needed, successful incorporation of losses in own life, and ability to accept people as they are.

Time Commitment: One year, approximately 4 hours per week with patients and families. Bimonthly meetings are scheduled for all volunteers for the purpose of discussing patient care issues, in-service training, and volunteer recognition.

Volunteers are also need in the office to assist with filing, helping assemble patient folders, and other miscellaneous tasks at our Chico location.

Donating to Butte Home Health and Hospice

The Hospice at Butte Home Health is one of the most respected end-of-life care providers in the state. Our innovative and specialized programs have allowed us to increase access to Hospice by anyone who needs it. Donations to hospice allow us to continue to provide quality end-of-life care to our patients and their families and to expand our already existing services by introducing new programs.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, Butte Home Health and Hospice is able to care for terminally ill people regardless of age, diagnosis, or ability to pay. Contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations support many important programs within Hospice and are tax deductible, since the Hospice is a nonprofit charitable organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service. Donations may be made in the form of checks, cash, Visa or Mastercard, stock, or in-kind contributions of donated goods or services.
