In Awards and Recognition, News, Our Team

Butte Home Health and Hospice learned today that it has been named a Fortune BEST Small and Medium Workplace™, ranking #59 in it’s debut on the top 100 list. BHH&H was also honored as a Best Workplaces for Aging Services™, ranking #5 in the At Home Care category.

“We’re humbled to make the list, but it’s really a testament to the quality of our team,” said Executive Director Robert Love. “During a pandemic, to make this list as a healthcare company is really something special.”

When asked what the drivers of creating one of the best workplaces in America, he continued: “We’re seeing a move toward consumer-driven care, and at the same time payers like Medicare are looking for value and move toward the Triple Aim of healthcare (Lower cost, better outcomes, and better patient experience). We believe that the fourth target of the Triple Aim is employee or team satisfaction. We believe that hiring the right people and creating an atmosphere where they can grow and thrive and feel supported is the way to improving the patient experience. We want our patients to receive care by people who love what they do!”

“Throughout the pandemic, we’ve responded by adapting work schedules and showing acts of support for our team, like weekly “grab and go” lunches for our team so that they can interact with their team members. We’ve also restructured our work when necessary to make it less taxing on personal lives, and at the same time we’ve invested in professional development so that our team can further their careers within our company while becoming better prepared to care for the types of patients we’re seeing at home. The result we’re aiming for is a more committed and cohesive team. In a market where nurses are scarce, we have team members referring their friends who are nurses, giving us an amazing talent pool to select from.”

Methodology (from GPTW website)

To determine the 2021 Best Small Workplaces list and the 2021 Best Medium Workplaces list, Great Place to Work® analyzed confidential survey feedback representing more than 280,000 employees working in small- and medium-sized businesses in the United States.

Employees responded to over 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their organization creates a Great Place to Work For All™. Eight-five percent of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. Great Place to Work analyzes these experiences relative to each organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical relative to their peers in the industry.

The remaining 15 percent of the rank is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure they’re consistently experienced.

To be considered, companies had to meet the Great Place to Work-Certified standard. To ensure survey results truly represent all employees, Great Place to Work requires that Trust Index© survey results are accurate to a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error or better. We review any anomalies in survey responses, news and financial performance to ensure there aren’t any extraordinary reasons to believe we couldn’t trust a company’s survey results. Companies with 10 to 99 people were considered for the small list; companies with 100 – 999 employees were considered for the medium list.
